Drug & alcohol prevention

We work to provide support to decrease alcohol and drug abuse at workplaces. Our goal is to create safer work environments for all employees.​

Drug abuse at the workplace

According to the international work environment organization ILO, about a quarter of all workplace accidents are due to alcohol and drug abuse. Employees with an addiction problem have a decreased work capacity and increased risk behavior.  Abuse in the workplace costs money, reduces productivity and increases the risk of accidents, sick leave and injuries.

Drug policy

A policy for an alcohol/drug-free work environment is the foundation of a drug prevention program. We assist with advice and support for the introduction of a drug policy and action programs in collaboration with the workplace.
​Based on our professional experience, we can tailor a policy that fits the company's operations.

Sampling

We carry out all types of sampling:
  • Alcohol: both breath samples and various laboratory markers.
  • Drugs: urine, saliva and hair samples that are analyzed in accredited laboratories.
  • We can perform testing in random programs, after an accident, upon new employment or for rehabilitation.

Consultation

Our long experience of methods for early detection and remediation of risky substance use is used in connection with health examinations and medical consultations. 

​We offer expert support for employee rehabilitation through our network of partners.

Our MRO doctors provide expert assistance in interpreting individual test results. An MRO doctor has the task of checking that all stages from sampling to test results are quality assured. This ensures the accuracy of the test answer in the event of a legal review.

Rehabilitation

The need for rehabilitation can vary for each individual. The employer has a rehabilitation responsibility towards the employee. We help companies develop a rehabilitation plan that fits the individual's needs.

Visida has a close collaboration with City Öppenvård, which is Norrbotten's oldest specialized outpatient clinic for alcohol, drug and abuse problems. The treatment is based on evidence-based methods and is performed by experienced and committed therapists. ​

We tailor training for your organization with the aim of providing increased competence at an early stage. We know that our trainings, together with other measures, contribute to early intervention and an increased focus on ensuring that affected colleagues and employees do not succumb to addiction.

We are a team consisting of doctors, nurses and behavioral scientists who all have a great interest and solid competence within this field.
